SCHOLA (documentary) - completed

Schola portrays various members of the Schola Cantorum. A close-knit group of singers who rehearse weekly for masses in St. Janskathedraal in 's Hertogenbosch. In a literal sense, what 'inspires' the (often young) members to make it worth the (time) investment. Schola touches on many themes without passing judgment on them, whereby the tension about the choir's survival is the dormant question in the long run. Schola has urgency at a time when cathedral choirs are increasingly disappearing (Schola Cantorum is only one of three similar choirs) and is rapidly becoming even more unique as an intangible heritage under the influence of the Corona pandemic, in which many singers stop at the national level.
